Award in Education & Training (Train the Trainer)
This Award in Education & Training (EATA) formerly known as PTTLS is an accredited version of Train the Trainer. It will give you an insight into the roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training.
What does this qualification cover?
This qualification provides an insight to the roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training. It provides all you need to plan, deliver and evaluate inclusive learning experiences. It also teaches you how to assess, evaluate and provide constructive feedback to learners.
Who is this qualification for?
This qualification is for those who work, or want to work as educators in the further education and skills sector in Scotland. Typical roles include Assessor, Trainer, Tutor or Lecturer.
There are no formal entry requirements, however we will ensure that learners have the potential to achieve this qualification. Learners must have the minimum levels of literacy and numeracy to complete the learning outcomes and the assessments.
We work with all learners to overcome any barriers to learning that they may have. This may involve changing assessment methods according to the qualification assessment strategy.
How is the qualification achieved?
Currently this course is delivered in face to face workshops. This involves attending a three day course and then a two day assessment workshop. This means that all work to complete the qualification is completed in class time.

This qualification is gained on completion of 3 mandatory units:
- Roles & Responsibilities of the trainer/educator
- How to plan, deliver and evaluate a training/learning session
- Assessment of learning
