Business Administration Level 6
Case Study 3
Reception Administrator – Albyn Housing
“My modern apprenticeship has met my expectations as I can see my skill set developing and so I feel like I have achieved something with it and I am aware my work has not been for nothing.”
What is your job role and responsibilities?
I am the Reception administrator and I am the first point of contact between my organisation and customers. I am responsible for answering calls, responding to tenants or customers queries about the Highland Housing register and how to apply or questions about the property they are in. I log repairs and take rent payments and do any additional admin tasks such as scanning and creating purchase orders.
What was your motivation behind undertaking a modern apprenticeship?
I wanted to add to my skill set and gain qualifications while securing more experience in a working environment.
What advice would you give someone thinking about doing a modern apprenticeship?
I would advise just to go for it. You learn on the job and so answering your coursework becomes easier as it is all about your day to day tasks. You do not need to be good at school or textbook learning to succeed in your apprenticeship.
How has your modern apprenticeship contributed to your current job role?
It has helped me become more confident in my role and improved my administration skills.
Has your modern apprenticeship met your expectations?
My modern apprenticeship has met my expectations as I can see my skill set developing and so I feel like I have achieved something with it and I am aware my work has not been for nothing.
