About this qualification
Accredited by the EAL this Project Management qualification sits at SCQF level 8 on the Scottish Framework. At second year degree level, it is a professional qualification and so provides the theory to support practice. Candidates will collate a portfolio of evidence of managing projects and should therefore should be currently managing a project or projects. Includes one year studying membership with the Association of Project Managers.
Who is the qualification for?
This is a professional qualification which provides the theory, tools and templates needed to manage a project at a professional level. It is ideal for those who manage projects full time or as part of their role. Current candidates appreciate the way it allows them to learn new techniques and use them to change their in-house processes for managing projects.
What will I learn?
There is a range of 13 units from which candidates select 11 or 12. It covers topics such as: Principles of Project Management, Project Communication, Project Stakeholders, Managing a Business Case, Project Contracts, Project Scope, Project Risk, Project Quality, Project Resources, Project Finance, Project Schedules, Providing leadership and Allocating and monitoring work.
How will I learn?
Funding or part funding is available to candidates of any age. The funding is for those who are employed in a role relevant to the qualifications. It is administered through the Apprenticeship scheme.
